GE's own procedure. An oven can stay locked well over an hour after a clean cycle ends.

Test the lock motor and the switch

Both fail in ways that read identically from the front, and one is much cheaper.

Check the hinges and the door alignment

A dropped door stops the lock engaging cleanly and produces intermittent codes.

Run a short clean cycle to prove it
