# GE refrigerator not cooling repair

What this involves

Settings and airflow before any part is named

Defrost circuit measured, not assumed

Sealed system is last, not first

What it is holding, not what it shows

A thermometer in the cabinet against GE's 37°F and 0°F. Displays drift, and a cabinet two degrees out is a different problem from one ten degrees out.

Airflow: vents, load and the condenser

A vent blocked by a box, a cabinet packed to the back wall, or a coil full of what Miami floors carry. All three produce this symptom with nothing broken.

The defrost circuit, under test

Heater, thermostat and control checked as a circuit. Evaporator ice that keeps returning is this, and it presents as a fridge warming while the freezer stays cold.

Only then, the sealed system

Licensed work, and the most over-quoted repair on a refrigerator. We rule out everything cheaper first and tell you plainly if that is where it has ended up.

What we leave you with

The cabinet temperatures before and after, and the recovery watched rather than assumed. A refrigerator that reads correctly ten minutes after a repair has proved nothing yet.
