Clean the coil and the fan
The condenser fan matters as much as the coil, and a fan slowed by debris produces the same symptom as a dirty coil.

Check the clearances around the cabinet
Built-in units vent through a grille with a specification behind it. Cabinetry built tight costs degrees in August and none in January.

Re-measure the cabinet
Before and after. If cleaning did not move the temperature, that is information and the diagnosis continues rather than stopping at a guess.

Cabinet temperature both ways, recorded. If cleaning moved it, that was the problem. If it did not, the cheapest cause has been eliminated with a measurement and the diagnosis goes on.

The maker's own first check
When a GE refrigerator is not cooling, GE's own support pages send you to the condenser before anything else. In South Florida that advice is worth more than it is anywhere else: floor-level coils under a modern refrigerator fill faster here than any manual assumes, and a house with a dog fills them faster still. A clogged condenser makes the compressor run hot and long, which is how a cleaning job turns into a compressor job if it is left. Often this alone restores cooling.
